Educational & Academic Background:
Ella had the privilege to be the No. 1 applicant in ‘CAMM’ (Ecole Artistique de La Mode Moderne) and she obtained her degree in ‘Stylisme & Modélisme’ in 1990; at the same time, Ella was studying Business Administration at ‘LAU’ (Lebanese American University).

Since ... till Now:
In her early graduation year, Ella ZAHLAN started her Fashion House in Beirut under her own brand.

With knowledge to turn vision into reality, Ella launched her first fashion show in Cairo, where she hit the fashion industry in the Arab world, thus attracting royalty to her Fashion House.

In 1994, she became an active member in the Syndicate of the Lebanese Haute Couture.

In 1996, she opened her own boutique in Beirut. Planned according to her vision, ZAHLAN was very specific about the design of her store ‘to make sure everything was perfect!’

Ella believes in women designers successfully stepping into the world of fashion. ‘Women can be successful too’! In ZAHLAN’s eyes, men and women designers stand equal.

Ella’s identity is just ONE: Femininity… ‘A Real Feminine Vision…’, she said, ‘…it’s from there where we should start!’. That is how over the years, Ella has passionately pioneered the Feminine Concept in all her fashion shows: Dragonfly, women wardrobe, ‘Je suis toutes les femmes’ (Dalida’s own wording), Sabah the icon…

As a testament to her belief, she participated in the Italian Forum for Women Entrepreneurs from Mediterranean, Middle East and Arabian Gulf Countries, in March 5th 2007, as a delegate selected and invited by the Embassy of Italy in Beirut so as to represent her country in Fashion.

Today, Ella is an official member in the Council of Arab Business Women.

Ella is the first international Arab woman designer member in the official calendar of AltaRoma. For two consecutive seasons, she has participated in the haute Couture fashion week, which was held in Rome on July 12th 2007 and on January 30th 2008 in the Auditorium-Parco della Musica ideated by Renzo Piano and MAXXI Museum, where she revealed her Fall-Winter collection 2007-2008 and her Spring – Summer Collection 2008.

Also, as a witness to her success, Zahlan was invited to Sicily in Italy by MadeInMedi Event on the 9th of September 2007, to be granted an award for the best fashion show in Rome for the season of fall-winter 2007-2008, sponsored by Fashion TV.
Two months later, on the 29th of November 2007, Zahlan was nominated as "The Number One Fashion Designer of the Mediterranean" and was once more granted an award, the Kouros 2007. This event was sponsored by the Mayor of Reggio Calabria in Italy, Mr. Guiseppe Scopelliti and the Cultural Councilor, organized by Ms. Antonella Freno, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture.

For this season, with a new showroom representation in Italy, Ella Zahlan is launching her first Ready-to-Wear Autumn-Winter 2008-2009 Collection in Milan.

Another testament to Zahlan’s stellar accomplishments is her celebrity clientele, which includes the likes of TV actresses, Miss Lebanon’s runners for two consecutive years (05-06/06-07). Among the top Lebanese designers, Ella was selected to dress star Haifa for the ‘Al-Wady’ TV program and famous singers like Sabah, Majida El-Roumy, Micheline Khalife, Madonna, Pascale Mechaalany, Amale Hijazi, Nina & Rida Boutros and many others who enjoy wearing her most fascinating collection…

So, what is the secret of ZAHLAN’s success? She attributes it to the impeccable organization of her Fashion House, which is “controlled to perfection.” That is how Ella sets the sail towards an international journey for a successful career… where every piece turns into a unique piece of art!…
